What's Up Wednesday

*"What's Up Wednesday" is run by Jamie Morrow and Erin Funk, and is an awesome weekly bloghop that gives readers and writers a great venue to keep in touch through the magical world of blogs. Come hop with us!*

Now I know I'm getting old, but man, these weeks are flying by. We're 1/4 of the way through the year already!!

What I'm Reading

Still reading Fablehaven, which I started last week, and hope to finish this week.

What I'm Writing

Still revising the MG. Went back over the brand new chapter 4 (which replaced the previous ch4&5) and reworked the new passages. Then I moved on through chapter 7, which is 22k of about 64k total. Goal for the rest of this week is to get to the halfway point. Then the rest of April will be reserved for the last half, which needs a lot more work than the first half did.

What Inspires Me Right Now

Summer is coming! I'm generally more of a winter person, but I want to get digging in my flowerbeds already! Nearly all the snow is gone now. The rest should be going away today. I can tell there are spring shoots under the fall mulch, but we're also probably going to get a few more frosts before we hit *real* spring, and I want to keep my baby plants protected. But very soon, sometime next week perhaps, I'll get to start raking and pruning and we'll see some green again.

What Else I'm Up To

Well, I've had a steady stream of custom orders to fill from my etsy shop, and a line of new spring dolls and animals I've been working on in between the custom orders and writing time and extra studying with sonny, who hasn't been super great about proofreading his homework the past quarter ;)
In blogging news, I'm passing on A to Z April this year. With all the editing and business running, and the fact that I nearly forget to do this Wednesday post once a week (yeah, I know) I think it's best if I save my writing power for my manuscript, and get that polished up before school gets out.

In family news, I have the house all to myself today for the first time in a while! Mr. Cate, the film maker of the house, has a new gig filming and editing sky diving videos for the summer. (no, he is not a sky diver. Yes, he is a bit of a daredevil.) Today he's at the airport for his first full day working on promotional videos and making marketing materials for the company. For the past few months, while he's been transitioning from part time to full time editing work, he's been home. With me. All day. Every day. And yes, I love the guy, but after six months of spending nearly 24 hours with a person, and it's nice to have some space and some quiet. And I know the dinner conversation is going to be very interesting.

What's going on out there in the rest of the Wednesday World??

Oh, I know that feeling, the one where you need to save your creative writing energy for the actual writing. That feels like my whole last year. Good luck with your revisions!

Best of luck reaching that midpoint in your story. I imagine once you get there, it'll motivate you to plow through to the end. At least that's what I find, anyway. Have a great week!

Good luck with the midpoint in your story. The midpoint of the story is so hard sometimes (well, most of the time). I'm more of a winter person too! It's rare to meet other winter people :)
